Classes for renewals will be held at Grady's BBQ, 7400 Bandera Road, on Sundays with qualification conducted at the Bass Pro Shops indoor range, 17907 IH 10 West (located in The Rim just north of 1604. The classroom portion of the class will start at 9:00 am and end at approximately 11:00 am, and will include coffee and a complimentary taco, to be followed with the short trip to Bass Pro Shops where handgun qualification will start immediately. Total time should be approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Based on a newly enacted law, anyone who has renewed twice
since receiving their original license, will not be required to take the renewal
class for 10 years. They will still be required to renew with DPS 6 months prior
to the expiration date of their license (3rd), or within 1 year after the
expiration date of their license. New fingerprint cards, new pictures and the
appropriate fee along with other documents in the renewal package, will still be
required to be posted to DPS within the proper time frame noted above.
PROCEDURES:
Once you have received notification from DPS that it is time to renew your
license, you may pay the state fee on line using the instructions sent to
you by DPS. You will receive a receipt via mail from DPS. You will then need to
take the renewal class and send the necessary paperwork to DPS.
If you prefer to not use the internet, you can follow the instructions
mailed to you by DPS, take the renewal class and send the paperwork and fee
to DPS via mail.
