In order to try and show our appreciation, for active duty personnel (active duty regular, active duty reserve, active duty guard) our class fee is reduced to $50.00. Although the state allows non active duty reserves and guard discounts, we are not in a position (not being as wealthy as the state) to do this. Please be prepared to show dated proof of active duty status, I.E. LES, when checking in for class.
In order to maintain our "break even" discount for the military, and because we are now limiting the size of our classes,
we must limit the seating
allotment of 15 seats per class for our military.
Please remember you must have a
valid drivers license from any state. You will be required to furnish a copy of
your
military ID, as well as LES documents or a letter from your commander indicating
your military status.
Effective after September 1, 2005, active duty military, or honorably discharged veterans, may obtain a license when they are 18 years of age.
All fees to the state are waived for military members.
Range qualification is optional if you qualified with a handgun (not a rifle) in the last five years. You will need to send DPS proof of this, when you submit your paperwork after class, by either certification or training notation contained in your military records.
